We start the tour in Ushuaia at each hotel. We drive along the national route N° 3 to the northeast, and leave Beagle Channel behind us. The landscape surprises us with incredible routes defined by mountain ranges, valleys, peat bogs, forests of high deciduous beeches (lengas), low deciduous beeches (ñires) and evergreen beeches (coihues) and beavers’ dams.
Firstly, we passed by the area where the electronic industry took place during the 70s.
After crossing Olivia River, we border the homonym hill and make our first stop in the viewing-point of Carbajal valley, where we will appreciate the immensity of the place, its relief and the glaciers formations at the back.
Later on, going by national route Nº 3, we see from the route Cerro Castor installations, the Andean ski center.
After that, we start going up to the Andean Garibaldi Pass, with the stunning views of Escondido and Fagnano lakes, approximately 480 mts over sea level, being able to appreciate closer the beauty of Fagnano Lake, one of the largest in South America.
We go on our trip along route Nº 3 and we reach Fagnano Lake, where we can see incredible landscapes, turning this day in an unforgettable experience.
