Early in the morning, we start our way with the pick up in the hotels and goes in direction to the National Park Los Glaciares. This excursion starts in “Bajo de las Sombras” pier, 8 km from the Glacier. Here, we start our navigation in the Brazo Rico and after navigating approximately for 20 minutes in front of the south wall of Perito Moreno Glacier, to get to the southwest coast.

We disembark and go to the refuge where we will get information about the tour and details for the trekking. The guides organize the groups of no more than 20 persons, so we can begin the trekking. We start it through the lush forest, in the coast of the lake, and after about 20 minutes of trekking, we arrive to the Glacier. In the ice border, the guides will help us with the crampons and give all the advices how to walk on the ice. The trekking is about 1:30 hs, always with a specialized guide who will give information about flora, fauna, general glaciology of the region.

The trekking is particularly attractive since gives us the possibility to be in touch the Glacier, its peaks, caves, little lagoons, with its incredible blue inside of them. Also, gives us an incredible view of the glacier wall and the Lake.

The trekking has a moderate difficulty, since the surface where we walk is irregular but safe and firm. After finishing the trekking, we return to the refuge, walking again through the forest. We will be able to have some lunch and then take the boat to return to the port “Bajo de las Sombras” where we continue our tour in the runways in front of the Glacier.

Note: the pick up is done in the hotels, except hotels which are less than 500 mts form the company’s office (Hielo y Aventura), and apartments, rented houses, small lodges and particular addresses, for them, the pick up will be in the office WITHOUT EXCEPTION.
